Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the FoldStack platform operated by
FoldStack, LLC ("FoldStack," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service,
you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
FoldStack provides a software platform that connects laundry service operators ("Owners" or "Tenants") with their customers ("Customers"). The platform includes web and mobile applications for order management, scheduling, route planning, payment processing, and customer communication.
FoldStack is a technology platform. We are not a laundry service provider. Each Owner operates their own independent business and is solely responsible for the quality, pricing, and fulfillment of their laundry services.
2. Accounts
Owner Accounts
- You must provide accurate business and contact information when registering.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
- You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a binding agreement.
- One person or entity may operate multiple tenant accounts (businesses), but each tenant account must represent a distinct business.
Customer Accounts
- Customer accounts are created under a specific Owner's tenant.
- A Customer may have accounts with multiple Owners.
- Customers must provide accurate contact and address information for service fulfillment.
Staff Accounts
- Staff accounts are created by Owners via invitation.
- Staff access and permissions are determined by the Owner through role-based access controls.
- Owners are responsible for the actions of their staff members on the platform.
3. Payments
Customer Payments
- Payments are processed through Stripe. By adding a payment method, you agree to Stripe's terms of service.
- Your payment card is charged by the Owner (via Stripe Connect) for completed laundry orders. Pricing is calculated at the weighing stage and displayed to you before your card is charged. FoldStack does not directly charge Customers.
- Refunds are initiated by the Owner at their discretion. FoldStack is not responsible for refund disputes between Owners and Customers.
- Tips submitted after delivery are an optional, separate Stripe charge and go entirely to the Owner. Tips are not required to complete an order.
Customer Subscription Plans
- Owners may offer recurring subscription plans (weekly, biweekly, or monthly) at discounted rates.
- Subscription pricing and terms are set by the Owner and disclosed at the time of subscription.
- You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect on your next scheduled order cycle.
- Subscriptions cannot be cancelled while an order is actively being processed (picked up through ready for delivery).
Add-Ons and Extras
- Owners may offer optional add-on services (e.g., bleach treatments, stain removal, special handling for bedding or pillows). Pricing for add-ons is set by the Owner and disclosed at order placement.
- Add-on charges are included in the total order amount charged to your card.
Reviews and Ratings
- If the Owner has enabled reviews, customers will be prompted to submit a 1–5 star rating and optional comment after delivery.
- Reviews are visible to the Owner and may be used to improve service quality.
- You must complete the review step before placing your next order when reviews are enabled.
Owner Payments (Platform Fees)
- Owners connect their Stripe account to receive Customer payments directly.
- FoldStack may collect a platform fee per transaction as disclosed in your subscription plan.
- Owners are responsible for configuring tax categories and rates for their services. FoldStack calculates tax based on the rates you set — we do not verify or guarantee the accuracy of your tax configuration. You are solely responsible for complying with applicable tax laws.
- Route mileage is logged automatically and retained for your tax records. You may export a CSV report of orders and mileage at any time for accounting purposes.
Platform Subscriptions
- Owners may be required to maintain an active platform subscription to use the Service.
- Subscription fees are billed monthly via Stripe. Pricing is disclosed at signup and may change with 30 days' notice.
- If your subscription lapses, access to the platform may be restricted until payment is resolved.
4. Owner Responsibilities
As an Owner using FoldStack, you agree to:
- Operate your laundry business in compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws.
- Set fair and transparent pricing for your services.
- Handle customer data responsibly and in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
- Not use the platform for any illegal, fraudulent, or harmful activity.
- Not attempt to circumvent platform fees or misrepresent transaction amounts.
- Respond to customer inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
5. Customer Responsibilities
As a Customer using FoldStack, you agree to:
- Provide accurate delivery and contact information.
- Be available during your scheduled pickup and delivery windows, or provide appropriate access instructions.
- Maintain a valid payment method on file.
- Not misuse the messaging system for harassment, spam, or inappropriate content.
6. Data and Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.
Each Owner's tenant data is isolated. Owners cannot access other Owners' data, and Customers' data is only visible to the Owner they registered with.
7. Intellectual Property
The FoldStack platform, including its software, design, logos, and documentation, is owned by FoldStack, LLC. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the Service.
Content you upload (photos, messages) remains yours, but you grant FoldStack a limited license to store and display it as needed to provide the Service.
8. Prohibited Uses
You may not:
- Use the Service for any purpose other than operating or using a laundry pickup/delivery business.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data.
- Transmit malware, spam, or any harmful content through the Service.
- Scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the platform.
- Impersonate another person or entity.
- Use the Service in any way that violates applicable law.
9. Limitation of Liability
FoldStack provides the platform "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- FoldStack is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
- FoldStack is not liable for disputes between Owners and Customers, including service quality, lost or damaged items, or payment disputes.
- FoldStack's total liability to you for any claims arising from use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid FoldStack in the 12 months preceding the claim.
10. Account Termination
- By you: You may delete your account at any time. Owner accounts may be deleted after resolving any outstanding orders and payments.
- By us: We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or remain inactive for an extended period, with notice where practicable.
11. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service will be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, conducted in the state of Illinois. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through an in-app notification at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
